Dirac to Exhibit at Unite Beijing 2018 and Present on Spatial Audio & the Future of VR

May 9, 2018

With over 770-million gamers having played a Unity-developed game since the company’s inception, Unity is the world’s most popular game development platform. Each year, Unity hosts a series of conferences – Unite – that provide developers with a place to unlock the full creative potential of the Unity engine, meet up and brainstorm with Unity experts and industry leaders, and get a peek at what Unity is developing for the future.

We’re excited to announce that we will be attending Unite Beijing 2018, from May 11th to 13th, to deliver a presentation on spatial audio and its importance in game development. Dirac believes that a perfected 3D audio solution – one that produces soundscapes that precisely mirror real-world acoustics – is a key that will unlock true VR immersion.

Tobias Ulvgård, Lead Research Engineer at Dirac, will outline why this is true, while also providing an overview of our ‘Dirac VR’ 3D audio solution and how it can be leveraged by Unity developers worldwide to create more immersive, realistic, and compelling gaming experiences.

Tobias and the XR team will also demonstrate to Unity developers and event attendees our second-generation Dirac VR using a Samsung Galaxy S8 with GearVR. We recently debuted this solution at MWC 2018,  and are now taking it on a global roadshow – most recently to Los Angeles for VRLA 2018 and this week to Beijing for Unite.

Dirac VR creates aural experiences that have been described by industry media as “startlingly realistic” and “eerily convincing” – and we’ve been named a company that “might just change the way people experience VR.” Though this is high praise, we believe it’s well-deserved, and we look forward to demonstrating such to Unity game developers at Unite Beijing 2018.
