Dirac Power Sound Brings Bigger, Bolder Sound to the All-New Aesthetically Designed MEIZU Gravity Speaker
August 9, 2018
UPPSALA, SWEDEN, August 9, 2018 — Dirac Research, the global leader in digital sound optimization technology, today announced that its Dirac Power Sound solution is embedded in the all-new, aesthetically designed Meizu Gravity portable speaker that began shipping this week.
“Our collaboration with Meizu highlights our continued commitment to the portable speaker market,” stated Niklas Thorin, Dirac’s General Manager of High Performance Audio. “Over the past decade, our technology has had a major impact on the automotive, home theater, mobile, and XR audio markets. Now, through our portfolio of small speaker optimization solutions such as Dirac Power Sound® and Dirac Panorama Sound®, we’re gaining increased traction in the portable speaker space.”
Dirac Power Sound is a digital technology that optimizes the sound experience from small loudspeakers typically plagued with audio performance deficiencies. Through the use of advanced measurements and optimization techniques, the solution equips the Meizu Gravity speaker with clearer, more natural sound with richer details; tighter, more powerful bass; loud, clear playback while retaining a natural timbre; and improvements to overall sound quality.
Additional features of the Meizu Gravity speaker include a deceptive floating body design and a unique transparent prism display, which from certain angles makes the text appear like its hovering above the speaker. The speaker is designed by Tokyo-based Kosho Tsuboi and showcases the acclaimed product designer’s love and appreciation for Buddhist and Zen principles.
“With our all-new Gravity, we have created a speaker that is as beautiful to look at as it is powerful to experience,” said a senior Meizu company representative. “The Dirac Power Sound solution effectively optimizes our speaker hardware, creating an impressively loud sound that doesn’t sacrifice crispness and clarity. It’s an accent to any room that will not disappoint.”
As further evidence of Dirac’s recent success in the portable speaker market, the company incorporated its digital audio solutions in the Xiaomi Mi AI speaker, earlier in 2018, and in the JBL Soundboost 2, during the second half of 2017.
