Hello Klas Åström, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Dirac. Tell us a bit about your background – and why you have joined us at Dirac?
For most of my career, I have been working as a CFO in various stock-listed companies. I also have a background in Corporate Finance at a couple of Investment banks. I have always had a crush for high-tech companies. By being on the edge of technology there are a lot of challenging and interesting tasks for a person in my position and if you get it right the business models are often very scalable.
Dirac came to my attention when they were looking for a new CFO. At that same time, I was thinking of my next step in life, I have spent my last 10 years in the image processing business so the move to a sound-based company felt both exciting and natural. I’m really thrilled to be a part of the team at Dirac, and to take the business to the next step, to become the leading company in our industry, also in terms of profitability and business growth.
What are the most exciting trends in the audio industry right now?
What we all have experienced during this year with the Covid-pandemic, having to meet remotely, is the importance of good sound to be able to keep up good communication with our colleagues and friends. I think we all have experienced the negative impact that bad sound has in these meetings. Dirac has the tools to give the listener a much better experience.
Finally, what we all want to know… What’s your favorite sound?
The sound of waves reaching the shore on a warm summer day, it is very relaxing and gives me the urge to just jump into the sea…
