Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 announced
September 11, 2017
With the help of Philippe Starck, Xiaomi is back with another near-bezel-less smartphone: Mi Mix 2. In addition to the Mi Mix 2, Xiaomi also took the wraps off the Mi Note 3 today. Both the Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 use Dirac Power Sound for speaker optimization and Dirac HD Sound for earphone optimization.
The Mi Mix 2 comes with a stunning ceramic unibody and a 5.99-inch screen. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and offers 6GB of RAM (8GB on ceramic special edition) and 64/128/256GB storage options (special edition is only 128GB). Xiaomi is pricing the Mi Mix 2 from 3299 yuan (about $500) for the model with 64GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. The 128GB version costs 3599 yuan ($550), meanwhile, and the 256GB model will be 3999 yuan ($610); the unibody ceramic special edition with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at 4699 yuan ($720). The Mi Note 3 sports a 5.5-inch display and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset. It has 6 GB of RAM and comes with either 64 or 128 GB of storage. It’s not quite as compact for its size as the Mi Mix 2 but the bezels are still relatively thin, making the device smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus. The 64 GB costs RMB 2,499 (around $385), while the 128 GB variant will retail for RMB 2,899 (around $445) — only the black model. There’s also a blue version of the device available that only comes with 128 GB of space and is slightly more expensive at RMB 2,999 (around $460). Learn more about Mi Note 3
