  • Impulse Response Correction

    Dirac Live adjusts volume levels and timing across frequencies. This ensures sound from all speakers is coherent, improving imaging and spatial detail.

  • Phase Alignment

    By aligning the phase of your speakers, all drivers and channels work together seamlessly, reducing distortion and smearing.

  • Multi-Position Measurement

    The system captures data from several positions to create a correction profile that improves the audio experience across the whole listening area.

  • Custom Target Curves

    Use built-in target curves or draw your own to explore personalised tuning of your system’s tonal balance.

  • Full-range or Limited

    Depending on your license, Dirac Live can apply correction to the full 20Hz–20kHz range, or just to the most problematic low-mid area.

  • On-Device Filter Processing

    Once calculated, filters are applied directly on compatible devices for

Dirac Live correction filters run directly on compatible audio devices (AVRs,
soundbars, streamers) after calibration.

For non-compatible devices, use our desktop audio tool to apply correction in real-time from your computer.

  • Setup

    1. Calibrate using the Dirac app

    Using a measurement microphone (such as the miniDSP UMIK-1) and the Dirac
    calibration software on your Windows/Mac computer or iOS/Android device,
    you'll measure your room from multiple listening positions.

    2. Generate correction filters

    The calibration software analyzes your measurements and creates custom correction filters tailored to your room and speakers.

    3. Apply filters

    For compatible devices: Filters are automatically uploaded to your device and run continuously during playback.

    For non-compatible devices: Use the desktop audio tool to apply filters in real-time to your desktop audio (standalone or DAW plugin).

  • Two options for playback

    Dirac Live Room Correction can be run:

    Directly from a compatible audio device: After calibrating, correction filters are uploaded to your device and run automatically during playback. No computer is needed after setup.

    As a desktop audio tool: For non-compatible devices, the desktop audio product applies correction in real-time to your computer audio (standalone app or DAW plugin). Speakers must be connected to your computer during playback.

  • Technical requirements

    All users:

    • Computer or mobile device for calibration tool (Windows 10+, macOS 11+, iOS, or Android)
    • External calibration microphone
    • A compatible device, or, if using the desktop audio tool, a computer with Windows 10+ or macOS 11+
