1. Download the software.

Begin by downloading and installing the Dirac Live software on your computer. The software is available for both Windows and Mac, ensuring compatibility with most systems.

2. Connect your Microphone.

Use a calibrated measurement microphone, such as the mimiDSP UMIK-1 that we recommend for Dirac Live calibration. Connect it to your computer.

3. Measurement procedure.

Open the Dirac Live application and enter your account details. Select your Dirac Live-enabled device from the list.

Dirac Live will prompt you to take measurements from various positions within your room. The software provides clear instructions and visual aids for optimal microphone placement.

4. Analyze and calibrate.

Once the measurements are complete, Dirac Live analyzes the data to identify acoustic anomalies such as peaks, dips, and reflections. Dirac Live then generates a correction tailored to your room’s specific acoustics.

5. Export to your device.

Finally, after designing the filter, export it to your device for a live listening test. Remember to save your project before closing the application to keep your filter settings and measurements for future adjustments. Once applied, the room correction is active, and you can immediately experience the improved sound quality.
