Dirac Launches Dirac Spaces in the U.S. market at AES Detroit 2026

DETROIT, July 28, 2026

Dirac today announced it will debut Dirac Spaces, its newest automotive audio solution, to the U.S. market at the AES Automotive Audio 2026 International Conference, taking place July 29-31 at Huntington Place in Detroit, Michigan.

First introduced in April 2026 at Auto China in Beijing, Dirac Spaces will now make its U.S. debut through live demonstrations at the Audio Foundry booth. Demonstrations will include a Volvo EX90 featuring technologies from Dirac, Primax, BdSound, Tymphany and Bluacs, showcasing Dirac Unison and Dirac Spaces in a production vehicle environment. Attendees will also experience a Karma Revero featuring technologies from Dirac, BdSound, Tymphany and Bluacs, demonstrating Dirac Unison and Dirac Dimensions.

Dirac Spaces brings venue-inspired listening into the vehicle cabin. The solution recreates the sound and feel of real-world acoustic environments, allowing music to be experienced with greater space, depth, and naturalness. For automakers, it creates a new software-defined audio experience that can help make the cabin more immersive, more personal, and more closely connected to the vehicle brand.

Recreating Real-World Acoustic Environments with Dirac Spaces

Dirac Spaces represents a new approach to in-car sound. Instead of only improving how audio plays back inside the cabin, the solution changes how the cabin itself is experienced acoustically.

By measuring both the vehicle cabin and a target acoustic environment, Dirac Spaces uses Dirac’s proprietary MIMO sound field control technology to reproduce the reflections, decay, directionality, and spatial character of that environment inside the car. The result is a more realistic and coherent sound field, allowing the cabin to take on the acoustic character of spaces such as an intimate studio, warm stage, or expansive performance hall.

Dirac Spaces is available in two configurations. Signature Spaces enable automakers to partner with iconic venues to create branded acoustic environments tailored to their vehicles. Designed Spaces include curated environments, measured from real-world venues and engineered by Dirac, such as Warm Stage and Grand Hall.

At AES Detroit, attendees will experience Dirac Unison and Dirac Spaces in the Volvo EX90, while the Karma Revero will showcase Dirac Unison and Dirac Dimensions, highlighting Dirac's growing portfolio of software-defined automotive audio solutions.

Integrating Dirac Processing into Pioneer’s Integrated Sound Platform

Dirac will also showcase its latest collaboration with Pioneer through a demonstration in a Volvo XC90 equipped with Pioneer speakers, highlighting Dirac Unison integrated into Pioneer’s next-generation Integrated Sound Platform (ISP). The demonstration will also feature Klippel technology, illustrating how Pioneer’s scalable amplifier platform enables advanced software-defined audio technologies to work together within a single integrated system.

Designed for software-defined vehicles, Pioneer’s Integrated Sound Platform provides a flexible foundation for integrating advanced audio processing directly into the amplifier. By embedding Dirac processing into the platform, the solution delivers a more coherent and immersive listening experience while simplifying system integration and providing automakers greater flexibility in system design, packaging and performance.
