McIntosh MX124 Features Dirac Live Room Correction and Bass Control for Reference-Level Home Cinema Performance
Dirac’s industry-leading room correction technologies deliver enhanced bass performance, improved clarity, and greater spatial accuracy to the new McIntosh A/V processor
UPPSALA, Sweden, July 22, 2026
Dirac is announcing today that Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control will be available in the new McIntosh MX124 A/V Processor, bringing advanced room acoustics optimization to McIntosh’s latest high-performance home theater device.
Designed for premium home cinema environments, the MX124 combines McIntosh’s renowned audio engineering with Dirac’s industry-leading room correction solutions to deliver more accurate, immersive, and balanced sound reproduction across a wide range of listening spaces.
Dirac Live Room Correction addresses both magnitude and phase distortions introduced by the listening environment, improving clarity, imaging, bass response, and overall tonal balance. Dirac Live Bass Control further enhances low-frequency performance by intelligently optimizing subwoofer integration throughout the room, delivering tighter, more consistent bass across multiple seating positions.
“In high-performance home cinema, the room is part of the system, and achieving reference-level playback requires more than premium components alone,” said Rikard Hellerfelt, Dirac Vice President & Head of BA Consumer Electronics “With Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control integrated into the McIntosh MX124, people who buy it will have a more precise foundation for immersive sound. McIntosh has built its reputation on uncompromising audio performance, and the MX124 gives customers the acoustic precision needed to fully realize that performance in any room – regardless of its acoustic complexities.”
The McIntosh MX124 is a multi-channel processor supporting configurations up to 13.4 channels and includes support for Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control out of the box. The processor also offers extensive connectivity options, including HDMI, digital, balanced analog, and unbalanced analog inputs, alongside Bluetooth and streaming support
By pairing McIntosh’s premium hardware with Dirac’s patented acoustic correction technologies, the MX124 optimizes sound for the full playback chain – from system components to the unique acoustic characteristics of the room.
