UPPSALA, SWEDEN, June 14, 2018 — Dirac Research, the global leader in digital sound optimization technology, today announced that Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has selected Dirac Research as their digital audio solutions provider for their newly unveiled OnePlus 6 smartphone. The OnePlus 6 comes fully-equipped with both Dirac Power Sound and Dirac HD Sound, two pioneering audio solutions that, together, transform the mobile listening experience delivered through both the smartphone’s built-in speaker and its corresponding earphones.

Since 2015, with the launch of the OnePlus 2, Dirac has worked closely with OnePlus to ensure that its devices are equipped with best-in-class listening experiences. With the launch of the OnePlus 6 the two companies have, once again, collaborated on a smartphone that combines premium hardware and advanced software to raise the bar in mobile audio quality.

The OnePlus 6 leverages a high-performance micro-speaker that’s hosted in a carefully-designed speaker cabin that maximizes its power. The Dirac Power Sound digital audio software solution is then added to the hardware system to further optimize the performance by delivering clearer, more natural sound with richer details and tighter, more powerful bass.

Dirac and OnePlus also worked closely to ensure that the sound quality of OnePlus earphones is optimized to the highest level, while also capable of producing sound characters tuned to OnePlus users’ preferences. To achieve this, OnePlus leveraged Dirac HD Sound, a powerful earphone-based digital sound optimization solution that measures and corrects the earphones’ impulse and frequency response to improve sound quality and enable the implementation of branded sound characters.

The OnePlus 6, the firm’s largest smartphone to date, features an enlarged 6.2-inch, 2280x1080 Full Optic AMOLED 19:9 display; Snapdragon 845 CPU; upgraded dual 16MP and 20MP cameras; and an all-glass design. The OnePlus 6 is available in Midnight Black, Mirror Black and Silk White color options.
